Apprenticeship Program

Apprenticeship has a long and successful tradition at Desma.
The benefit is a well trained and highly qualified staff
– the source of a prosperous future.

3D CAD System Unigraphics is used in the departments of engineering, pneumatics, electrics, mould shop and work planning: DESMA technical draughtsman trainees learn using this system, later to be employed as assistants in the design department. They also receive basic training in metalwork,
production and assembly.

Commercial office workers experience all different areas
of commerce and administration, including Store, Purchasing,
Sales, Service, HR and Bookkeeping, EDP and Dispatch.

Technical apprentices specialising in milling and turning
are trained in our technical departments, as are industrial
mechanics
specialising in machine – and system technology
as well as electricians.

All technical apprentices begin with 6 months basic skills in
metalwork. After this, they proceed to specialist departments
and the assembly shop, where they – together with fully
trained specialists – produce not only parts on CNC machines
but also machine components, also learning to configure and
program automation systems. Intensive preparation for final
examinations takes place in the 6 months prior to the examination.
This preparation is fully supervised. Theoretical knowledge is gained
at Vocational School in Verden or Bremen.

Internships and Diplomas

DESMA is always glad to provide Internships for practical
semesters and Diploma candidates. Students of engineering,
electronics and automation will find that we are able to offer
interesting fields of study in our machine and electronics
design departments and automation and process
technology departments.
