Starting Spring with lightness

Dear customers and partners,

In the northern hemisphere, winter is changing its robe and the first signs of spring are shaping the landscapes. The season of lightness and the first rays of sunshine call for lighter clothing and lighter footwear. The onset of spring provides the ideal opportunity to explore the great outdoors, whether on a short walk, a hike or participating in a running event, such as the renowned Boston Marathon in April. Light and comfortable shoes, made by using direct soling or amir® C technology, will ensure that you feel prepared for your "Major Steps Forward".

The DESMA SCF technology is also paying off in exactly this respect: sample mould projects and also first sample shoes produced for our customers underline that the interest in Super Critical Foaming and the demand for ever lighter soles is increasing. This is just the beginning and we look forward to your further inquiries and exciting use cases, which we will – considering our slogan "Pioneering. Together" – discuss and realize together with you.

If you are interested in exploring this technology and if you have developments on hand or in planning, we look forward to hearing from you.

Release agent meets sustainability

Spring is also the „green season“. In addition to the DESMA Particle Dosing Technology, which you are already familiar with and which makes your direct soling even more sustainable, we are convinced that the use of water-based release agents also makes a significant contribution to a more sustainable production. Additionally, the reduced consumption of both solvent- and water-based release agents resulting from the use of electrostatics in their application contributes to an even more sustainable direct soling process.

By the way, did you know that you can save up to 70% release agent by using a DESMA release agent spray robot (TMS) with electrostatics?

DESMA TMS robots with electrostatics apply water- or solvent-based release agent with high precision. The release agent is applied exactly where it is needed. This means that the injected PU does not adhere to the mould and the demoulding of the shoe soles is facilitated.

While manual processing with a spray gun usually requires more than 5 grams of release agent per mould, in a robot-guided application, the release agent is applied with only 3-5 g/mould. By combining the DESMA-TMS robot with electrostatics, an even more remarkable result of 1.5-4g can be achieved. This is a significant reduction in release agent consumption and thus boosts sustainability and also leads to cost savings.

Your Benefits:

  • Minimizing release agent consumption and thus reducing costs
  • Ensuring a consistent, high product quality of the soles
  • Improving the working environment for your employees
  • Guaranteeing a long-operating life of the moulds

Please feel free to contact us. Together, we will identify which advantages you can exploit for yourself. We look forward to supporting you in your project.
