The A+A 2021, the leading international fair for occupational safety and health, ended successfully at the end of October. More than 1200 exhibitors from 56 different countries had the opportunity to showcase their products to more than 25,000 visitors. We were delighted to welcome numerous customers to our stand, where we enjoyed many interesting talks.

The topic of sustainability was also the focus of attention at the A+A and you showed a keen interest in the technical solutions we have to offer to questions of sustainability as well as many other issues. The addition of granulated production waste, recyclates or other sustainable fillers reduces the use of polyol and isocyanate in direct soling processes. This is the next answer devised by DESMA in response to the need for sustainability in direct soling. The particle dosing unit can be retrofitted and, together with modification of the machine and visualisation software, allows the use of fillers such as production waste or other solids. This significantly improves the sustainability footprint of direct soling.

The advantages are as follows:

  • DESMA offers particle dosing for both pouring and injection processes.
  • Manufacturers can use their own production waste (e.g. PU, TPU and/or rubber), or add pre-purchased granules (PU, TPU, rubber or cork).
  • Waste is recycled and returned to the production process.
  • Recycling reduces the use of raw materials/chemicals.
  • Carbon emissions are reduced because lower quantities of polyol and isocyanate are purchased. This improves the carbon footprint of your production processes.
